Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 September 2026
This policy explains how Irish App Services handles information for the Android app Irish Driving Theory Test (net.mydrivingtest.ireland.theorytest). It covers this Android app, not the separate iOS app.
Your study progress is stored on your device. Optional usage analytics is off until you choose to enable it in supported versions. Google Play and RevenueCat process purchases so that Premium access and Restore Purchases can work. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information handled by the app
Study information stored on your device
Quiz progress, scores, bookmarks, study statistics and preferences are stored in Android app storage. We do not upload your quiz answers or study history to our own server. Eligible app data may be included in Android system backup when you have enabled backup. Restoring a device backup may restore that data.
Optional usage analytics
Android versions with the Usage Analytics setting, starting with version 2.0.28, ask before enabling Google Analytics for Firebase. Choosing No thanks leaves analytics disabled. You can change your choice in the app under Settings → Usage Analytics.
When enabled, analytics includes app opens, onboarding completion, paywall views, purchase and restore flow events, and supported deep-link destinations. Google Analytics also processes app and device information, interaction and session information, an app-instance identifier, and approximate country or region derived from network information. These identifiers are pseudonymous; this is not a promise of complete anonymity.
We use this information to understand usage and improve the app. Our Android configuration disables advertising-ID collection and advertising consent. We do not send quiz answers, names, email addresses, purchase receipts or full deep-link URLs as custom analytics event parameters.
Purchases and Premium access
Google Play handles Android payments and payment-card information. We do not receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat processes its app-user identifier, purchase and transaction information, subscription status, and technical app/device information to validate purchases, provide Premium access and restore eligible purchases. Network requests also provide technical connection information to the service providers.
This purchase-related processing is separate from optional Firebase analytics. Turning off Usage Analytics does not turn off the processing needed to retrieve available plans or manage Premium access. The app does not require you to create a separate account with us.
Support and permissions
If you email us, we receive the email address and information you choose to provide so we can respond. Please do not send payment-card details or other unnecessary sensitive information.
The app does not request access to precise device location, contacts, camera or microphone. Approximate analytics location is not GPS access. Notification permission, where granted, can be managed in Android Settings.
2. Purposes and service providers
We process information to deliver the app and purchased features, respond to support requests, maintain security, comply with applicable obligations, and—with your permission—understand app usage. Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, optional analytics relies on your consent; essential service delivery, support, security and compliance rely on the applicable contract, legitimate-interest or legal-obligation basis.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: optional usage analytics. Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.
- RevenueCat: purchase validation and entitlement management. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Google Play: app distribution, payments and subscription management, under Google's policies.
- Cloudflare: hosts this policy page and may process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and secure it. This page contains no analytics scripts or advertising trackers. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Service providers may use subprocessors to deliver their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect rights and security. We do not sell personal information or use the Android analytics described here for personalised advertising.
3. Your controls and deletion requests
- Analytics: use Settings → Usage Analytics to enable or disable it. Disabling stops future Firebase analytics collection and resets locally stored analytics data and the app-instance identifier. It does not automatically erase data already processed by the provider. Android or iOS system analytics switches are not a substitute for this in-app setting.
- Local study data: use available in-app reset controls or clear this app's storage through Android Settings. Manage system backups separately if you do not want a backup to restore eligible data.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel them in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Use Restore Purchases in the app to restore eligible purchases. Deleting app data or uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Data requests: email dttquestionreport@gmail.com to request access, correction or deletion of data associated with your use of this app. We may need limited information to identify the relevant record and verify the request. Some transaction records may need to be retained for legal, accounting, security or dispute-resolution purposes.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, receive a portable copy of your data, withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing, and complain to your local data-protection authority. In Ireland, this is the Data Protection Commission. We do not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
4. Retention, transfers and security
Local information remains until cleared, subject to any device backup. Analytics retention depends on the Google Analytics property settings and Google's retention rules. Purchase records are retained as needed to operate and restore entitlements and meet applicable obligations. Support correspondence is kept as needed to handle the request and related obligations. Contact us if you need information about a particular record or a deletion request.
Providers may process information outside Ireland or the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Applicable data-protection safeguards and the providers' processing terms govern these transfers; merely using the app is not treated as blanket consent to optional analytics or international transfers.
App storage uses Android's protections, and service connections use HTTPS. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.
5. Children and policy updates
The app is intended for learners aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. Contact us if you believe a child has provided such information.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Where required, material changes will be explained in the app and fresh consent will be requested for changed optional processing.
